Nature - drama and serenity
The Bornholm landscape is frequently cited as the island's greatest attraction. It covers the entire Scandinavian spectrum in just a few square kilometres.
Dramatic cliffs rear vertically out of the sea and bear witness to a time when the most violent forces of nature were at work.

The landscape is intersected by fault valleys, which invite you to wander by streams and waterfalls.
The serenity of the woods is so overwhelming even a bicycle is noisy and you have to stop and stand perfectly still on the well-maintained cycle path.
The large, sandy beaches of the south invite you to swim in the summer and go walking in the blustery months of autumn and winter.
If you have a particular interest, Bornholm has lots to offer. Geologically, Bornholm is a treasury. Ornithologists flock to the island. Butterfly enthusiasts are striking camp and heading for Bornholm. And so on and so forth.
You can find more information about Bornholm's natural assets in all sorts of places. Try surfing these pages and check out walks, cycling holidays, videos, etc.
Another good place to start is at the NaturBornholm interactive visitor centre in Aakirkeby, which tells the tale of Bornholm's genesis.
